So does that mean that the funds transferred by my husband from his Fidelity 401-K into a Fidelity money market fund yesterday are not insured under this U.S. Treasury program??? Aside from being irritating and annoying, should I be worried about this? Then the internet emerged about 15 years ago and people started doing business on the world wide web.  What once took weeks to find, could now be accomplished in minutes if not hours.  Many industries including financial services moved their businesses to the web.  Insurers quickly realized that if they wanted to stay relevant and continue to grow their businesses, they would  have to have an internet presence where they offered people the ability to compare car insurance online.  Consumers responded really well to this innovation, because it was a tremendous convenience.  They now had the ability to do cost comparisons on their computers and for many this was a huge step forward.  The days of spending hours on the phone or going from company to company were done.  When someone would go to insure their vehicle, they could simply look up a company’s website, go to that company’s website, and then they could compare auto insurance online from each company that they chose.    

Over the last few years, we have seen the emergence of quote comparison portals.  These portals are very time efficient and they are much easier for consumers to use because multiple companies offer their free car insurance quotes on the same site.  With this added convenience, it is now easier than ever to find the coverage you need at the price you desire.  If one company offers you a high price, you can go back and see what another company offers.  It has become that simple to compare car insurance.

However, just because the technology has advanced so much, this is not a reason to get complacent. If a company was going to offer you a high rate offline, the chances are they will probably offer you the same high rate when you shop on the internet.   Therefore, to find cheap car insurance quotes you still need to look for them.

This is particularly true for younger adults.  If you are under the age of 25 and looking for the cheapest auto insurance, you might have a little more difficult time finding a deal.  This is because 18-25 year old motorists have the highest accident rates of any age demographic in the population.  As a group they are also charged the highest premiums.  But there is no need to panic, if you are someone who is looking for young drivers car insurance, and you are under the age of 25, you can still find good deals, you just have to look a little harder for them.
